Biblical Heritage of the Church — Call to Action — 1

God of Purpose:

We serve the God of purpose: You (the reader), are not a product of an accident. God has a purpose for creating the earth and making you part of His plan for restoring fallen humanity to an eternal relationship with Him. For that purpose, He sent His Son, Jesus to the world (Matt. 1:18-21).

He has taken you to where you are at this moment of your life. He knows all about you: Not a grain of hair on your head falls without His knowledge. He calls you to join the train - the bandwagon of New Day disciples of Christ and apostles. Don’t be distracted. Don’t ignore God’s purpose for your life (Eccl.3:1; Proverbs 29: 18).

Jesus came to give you life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3; Jn.10:10, 2 Cor. 8:9, 1 Cor. 4: 7).

Believers’ Mandate For Today’s World:

Getting Back to the 1974 Lausanne Covenant:

Join us to navigate and affirm the Lausanne covenant. All believers in Jesus with a call upon their lives are invited to join the movement of New Day disciples/apostles to the world. This is non-denominational and non-sectarian.

Faith Affirmation/Vision:

We affirm our belief in the one-eternal God, Creator, and Lord of the world, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who governs all things, according to the purpose of his will. He has been calling out from the world a people for himself, and sending his people back into the world to be his servants and witnesses for the extension of his kingdom; the building up of Christ’s body, and the glory of his name. We confess with shame that we have often denied our calling and failed in our mission by becoming conformed to the world, or withdrawing from it. Yet, we rejoice that the gospel is still a precious treasure even when borne by earthen vessels. To the task of making that treasure known in the power of the Holy Spirit, we dedicate ourselves anew.

(Isa.40:28, Matt.28:19, Eph. 1: 11, Acts 1:14, John 17: 6,18, Eph.4 12; 1 Cor. 5: 10; Roman. 12:2: 11 Corinth. 4: 7).

The above is article 1 of the 1974 Lausanne Covenant - the overarching statement of believers’ vision and mission to the world. This initiative marks a new beginning and a guide for all Christians committed to obeying the Lord’s command.

We Believe in One Eternal God.

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and no one can fathom his understanding.” (Isaiah 40:28).

The Great Commission:

He has been calling out of the world a people for himself, and sending his people back into the world to be his servants and witnesses for the extension of his kingdom; the building up of Christ’s body, and the glory of his name.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” (Eph. 1:11).

Renewed Commitment:

We confess with shame that we have often denied our calling and failed in our mission by becoming conformed to the world, or withdrawing from it. Yet, we rejoice the gospel is still a precious treasure even when borne by earthen vessels. To the task of making that treasure known in the power of the Holy Spirit, we dedicate ourselves anew.

“As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” (John 17:18).

“They all joined together constantly in prayer …” (Acts 1:14).

“And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their works of ministry, and as they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4: 12).
